Looking after your Company Car
A company car is a great benefit to have, and it can save you a lot of money. Whilst the company will be responsible for any kind of large maintenance work that needs to be carried out, it will be your job to look after the vehicle on a day-to-day basis. Here are some of the things you should be doing:
- Check the tyre pressure. You will be able to do this easily by visiting a garage and testing your tyre pressure. The correct pressure will be listed in the manual.
- Fill it up with the right fuel. This might sound obvious, but it can be so easy to put petrol into a diesel car, especially if this is not what you are used to. Always double check at the petrol station.
- Make sure you know who to call in an emergency. Check the information that the company gives you and have it to hand in case of breakdowns or other emergencies.
- Check that your insurance details are kept up to date. If you change address or any other personal details, notify the correct person immediately or your insurance could be void.
